Welcome to WorldThought. By accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use WorldThought.
WorldThought is an anonymous platform that lets people share thoughts, tied to their verified country, with the rest of the world. Content resets every 8 hours across UTC windows (00:00, 08:00, 16:00) and each country holds up to 1,000 thoughts per window. WorldThought is operated by Mebley, Inc. ("WorldThought," "we," "us," or "our").
You must be at least 13 years old to use WorldThought (or 16 in jurisdictions where that age applies). By using the app you confirm you meet the minimum age requirement for your region. Parents and guardians are responsible for the use of the app by minors under their supervision.
Authentication is via a one-time email code - no password is stored. Your display name is stored on our servers but is never shown alongside any thought you post. Thoughts and replies appear under a randomly assigned color dot, not your name or email.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any account credentials, including the one-time code sent to your email. We are not liable for unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to secure your device or credentials.
To post a thought, WorldThought verifies that your device is physically located in the country you are posting for. Location is resolved in real-time using your device's GPS and reverse geocoding. We do not store your precise coordinates - only the country name derived from them is used for verification.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. By posting, you grant WorldThought a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute your content within the app. Thoughts are publicly visible to all users worldwide during the active 8-hour window.
You are not required to send us feedback, bug reports, or suggestions. If you do, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and incorporate that feedback into WorldThought without compensation or obligation to you.
WorldThought is a platform for anonymous, unverified personal expression - it is not a news outlet, journalism product, or fact-checking service. Thoughts and replies reflect the personal opinions of the individuals who post them and are not reviewed, verified, fact-checked, or endorsed by WorldThought before or after they appear in the app. Nothing on WorldThought should be relied upon as accurate, complete, or authoritative information about current events, locations, or any other subject. WorldThought disclaims all responsibility for the accuracy, truthfulness, or reliability of any user-submitted content.
WorldThought is not a mental health service, crisis line, or substitute for professional support, and content posted by other users is not moderated in real time. You agree not to post content that: is hateful, discriminatory, or harasses individuals or groups; contains threats of violence or self-harm; promotes or glorifies illegal activity; contains explicit sexual material; is designed to mislead or defraud others; violates any third-party intellectual property rights; or attempts to circumvent location verification through VPNs, GPS spoofing, or other means.
WorldThought reserves the right - but not the obligation - to review, remove, or restrict any content at its sole discretion, without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Repeated violations may result in permanent account termination.
WorldThought is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice.
WorldThought may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as the App Store or Google Play, that are not owned or controlled by Mebley, Inc. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. Reviewing their policies before you use them is your responsibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WorldThought is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We make no warranty that the service will meet your requirements or that any defects will be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WorldThought and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of WorldThought will not exceed $100 USD.
WorldThought, its logo, and all associated branding, design, and code are owned by Mebley, Inc. Other than the license you grant us to your own content (see User Content above), nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the app, its design, or its trademarks to you. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of WorldThought outside of normal use of the app.
We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. If you believe content available through WorldThought infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@worldthought.app including: identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed; identification of the allegedly infringing content and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf; and your signature. We will respond to valid notices by removing or disabling access to the reported content. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
You agree to indemnify and hold Mebley, Inc. and its team harmless from any claim, damage, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of WorldThought, your posted content, or your violation of these Terms. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, this section applies only to the extent permitted by your local consumer protection laws.
We may suspend or terminate your access to WorldThought at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using WorldThought at any time by deleting your account in Settings. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution, will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections under the laws of your country of residence.
Informal resolution: before filing any formal claim, contact us at hello@worldthought.app and give us 60 days to resolve the dispute informally. Binding arbitration: if informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of WorldThought will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. The arbitration will be conducted in English. Class action waiver: you and Mebley, Inc. each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. Claims must be brought in your individual capacity. Opt-out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@worldthought.app within 30 days of first using WorldThought, stating that you wish to opt out. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. EU, EEA, and UK consumers: this section does not override your mandatory local consumer rights, including your right to bring claims in the courts of your country of residence.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Mebley, Inc. regarding WorldThought. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of WorldThought after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
